Happy Friday, and thanks for tuning in!
This week’s issue is going to be short and sweet, because I’m in the middle of exams for school and I haven’t had much time to think about (much less watch) TV.
In case any of you have similarly busy schedules at the moment, today’s issue is going to give you some options for nice, short things to watch in between agenda items. And today, we’re switching up mediums a bit; every rec on this list is one of my personal favorite YouTube channels.
While I have you, I also want to remind you about my upcoming series on the things we watched when we were 14. I have quite a few volunteers so far, but I’d love more, so if you’d like to revisit your awkward teenage years through the lens of the TV series you loved, respond to this email and I’ll reach out with details!
Short on time? Here’s what to watch
Postmodern Jukebox

Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox gives modern classics a vintage twist, with old-school remixes of today’s hits. There are lots of fun covers on this channel, but here are a few favorites:

This channel features clips of celebrity interviews hosted by Sam Jones, whose casual, conversational interview style, in combination with the stripped-back black-and-white visuals of the videos, allows for the conversation topics to really shine through. The channel has created playlists for each celebrity featured.
Skincare by Hyram

Cracking into the complicated (and sometimes expensive) world of skincare can be overwhelming, but luckily cheery, knowledgeable Hyram is here to help. This channel is a great entry-level guide to creating a skincare routine, with the added bonus of being a very relaxing watch. The channel is sorted into helpful playlists depending on what you’re looking for.
Mahogany Sessions

This channel is known for stripped-back acoustic performances by some of the best musicians working today. Whether you’re looking for some relaxing background music or a short, immersive audio experience, this channel delivers on chill vibes and impressive musicianship. Here are some favorites:
Jessica Kellgren-Fozard

This channel is a lovely mix of vintage fashion, social issues, and real-world education, all helmed by the stylish and wonderful Jessica Kellgren-Fozard. The creator uses her real-life experience to talk about disability, chronic illness, LGBT issues, and more, while keeping things approachable and fun. You can find playlists separated by topic on her channel.
Bonus Features
No bonus features this week (hey, I’m busy!). But hopefully next week we’ll be back to our regularly scheduled programming.
Until then, happy watching, and thanks for tuning in!
